I drink coffee like I’m a Gilmore. As a real estate agent on the go, an extra latte for the road always makes my morning commute better.
Here are some of my favorite places to stop for a coffee on your way to work, groceries, school drop off, or wherever you’re headed:
Mae's Market
This year I’ve started turning into a regular at Mae’s Market. Their coffee is always on point, and their pastries are hard to resist. They have plenty of seating and tables for staying a while if your work location is flexible. If you need more of a grab and go option, Mae’s is great for that too! They even have prepared meals you can snag if you forgot your lunch or need something to make for dinner.
My usual order is either a cortado or a latte paired with a homemade chocolate cookie.

Gustave Boulangerie
Known for their French pastries and amazing outdoor space, Le Jardin, you can’t go wrong with a stop at Gustave’s.
With so many pastries and sandwiches to choose from I can’t pick a favorite, but my go-to coffee order here is an iced latte with a little vanilla.

For Five Coffee
Looking for a taste of New York City? For Five Coffee started as a micro-roasting company in Queens, NY.
Their Alexandria location is located right by the King St Metro, so it’s convenient for both vehicle and public transit commuters. If you’re a work-from-home person or have location flexibility, this location is also great for bringing your laptop and staying for a while.
My favorite non-breakfast menu item is the mexican birria grilled cheese, but their cookies pair really well with a cortado.
Location: 1800 Diagonal Rd, Alexandria, VA 22314
Misha's Coffee
Misha’s is a classic choice for coffee in Old Town, Alexandria that is loved by locals and visitors alike for their freshly roasted beans. Whether you’re on your way to work or you’re spending the day on King St, this is a stop you won’t want to miss.
The sausage roll (if they have any left) is one of my breakfast guilty pleasures, and my go-to order is a plain ole’ cold brew because honestly it’s the best in town.

Cortado Cafe & Crepery
We can’t overlook a stop in Alexandria West! Cortado Cafe is another great stop to make. From crepes & pastries to your daily coffee fix, they have you covered.
I can’t go to a place called “Cortado Cafe” without of course getting a cortado, so by default that’s my usual order! I regret nothing.
