National Beer Day is April 7th, so start making your brewery-hopping list now! Here are a few of the top breweries in and around Alexandria Virginia.

#1: Port City Brewing Company

I LOVE Port City. This local favorite is located in the heart of Alexandria, just off of Duke St. You can find them on shelves and on tap all over the Northern Virginia area, but don’t skip their tasting room! There you can purchase tasting tickets at a very reasonable price and try all of their delicious brews (my favorite is the Porter, closely followed by the Optimal Wit). You’re bound to find something you love from their extensive tap list!

#2: New District Brewing

New District Brewing is located in Arlington, VA and is a relatively new brewery, the first brewery in Arlington County since 1916.

Hey dog lovers: on Wednesdays, you can bring your four legged friends to their Dog Club and enjoy some wags and pints!

#3: Fair Winds Brewing

Fair Winds Brewing has it all, both delicious brew AND food trucks on a regular schedule. Even better, this brewery is dog friendly! You can find Fair Winds Brewing in Lorton, VA.

#4: Heritage Brewpub & Roastery

Founded by veterans, Heritage Brewpub & Roastery has been brewing since 2013 and has two locations: Manassas, VA and Arlington, VA. Not only can you taste their beer on-site, but you can also enjoy items from their full menu at the Arlington location or grab a coffee (they roast their own)!

#5: Right Proper Brewing Company

Right Proper Brewing Company is located in Washington DC and brews in both the Shaw and Brookland neighborhoods. Both locations offer unique beers, and the Shaw location has Southern comfort food to enjoy with your beer!
