Hola Barcelona! I mean… Barca! #IYKYK

Alexandria’s newest tapas style restaurant is blowing our minds – if you’ve been, you know what I’m talking about. Located right on the all new Robinson Landing Pier, Barca (Spanish for boat) welcomes you both from land and by sea, offering breathtaking views of the waterfront, National Harbor and even our Nation’s Capitol just a stones throw down the Potomac. Pre-COVID, I had the privilege of visiting Barcelona… the Spanish beach town filled with beautiful people, amazing food, and Gaudi-inspired historic sites that attract curious minds from all across the globe. I can’t help but see a fantastically close parallel existing to Barca in Old Town Alexandria.

Food. Food. Food. Yes, I’ll have another plate of the papas bravas! I could go on forever about the culinary delights created in the kitchens at Barca. Tapas style is oh so Vogue – try any of the Spanish inspired dishes and you won’t be disappointed. Pan con tomate, the freshly made hummus, prime beef tenderloin… Seriously, every bite takes me back to the rooftops of Barcelona, with a bottle of wine and sunset over the town. And each dish begs to be on the gram, with presentations so beautiful it would be a crime not to capture and share with the world.

Speaking of drinks, they also have a killer cocktail menu with eye catching creations that will be sure to make your restaurant neighbors jealous. For citrus lovers there’s the Palomar, featuring citadelle gin; if you’re more of a whisky person, you can’t go wrong with the smoked glass filled with Splasher & the Rye. 

For a wonderful evening with friends, or simply for yourself (treat-yo-self), Barca delivers a solid experience that brings out the best of the Alexandria food scene.
